The Drew Carey Show on ABC will make a quiet exit this summer

The network finally made it official this week, when TV land is being inundated with the exit of Friends. The loss of the Drew Carey Show will likely go unnoticed. A few more episodes will be shown over the summer and then it will quietly be gone. One of the reasons cited here is likely the reason the Whose Line is gone also. The people at ABC that got Drew's show on the air are no longer at the network. The current executives at the network want their shows, i.e. the ones that they promoted or brought to the network, to succeed, and pay little attention to shows that were brought in by former executives.
